Subsite in the Works - Posted by Strider
|

I'm here to announce the new SubSite opening soon here at 9-Bit dedicated to the Dingoo A320. This portable gaming device is a perfect addition to any homebrew gamers library. It's entirely open ended, so any programmer can literally pick one up and begin programming using the available SDKs and examples. However, the going point for this device is the ability to run emulators of older gaming systems. (NES, SNES, GameBoy, TurboGraphx 16). Of course, be careful that you're not joining the ranks of video game pirates.
The new SubSite shall open soon complete with information about the device, ROM compatibility lists, reviews and more!

Everyone's heard the news about the earthquake in Haiti. I'm asking you to lend a hand in helping these people. It doesn't take much, simply text HAITI to 90999 and $10 will be sent to the American Red Cross and will be posted to your phone bill.
Alternatively, 9-Bit Productions has also started a fund. All proceeds will go to the American Red Cross as well. Simply send donations to:
9-Bit Productions C/O Nicholas Evans 31590 Highway 5 Gravois Mills, MO 65037
Or you can click the Donate Button in the lower left corner of the website under the navigation bar. Make all payments out to the American Red Cross in either check or money order. No cash, please. Please help us help the people in Haiti.

We've all heard about the "YOU'VE WON A FREE <Insert Item Here>" ads. We've all received junk in our inboxes about the same thing. Well, I am proud to introduce a website that offers merchandise and is 100% legitimate! How do I know this? Because I just got an X-Box 360 from these guys. They deal with what are called "Swag Bucks" which can be traded for a SLEW of items. By all means check them out! Click the banner just above this post to see more!

Love Retro Gaming? SO DO WE! - Posted by Strider
|

We all love retro games, but gaming on an emulator or playing an NES styled fan game just doesn't bring the nostalgia factor than holding the original NES controller in your hand... UNTIL NOW.
Just the other day, I stumbled onto a website titled RetroZone and was immediately giddy with excitement. On this site, you can purchase for a small fee of $34 your very own NES USB gamepad for your home PC. But there's more! They also have USB versions of SNES, Genesis, Atari, and Vectrex controllers available, not to mention converters for other controllers you'd like to use!
Now, being the hardware mod whore that I am, I was wondering how to do this myself. Well, RetroZone took care of that part easily, as you can purchase the KITS to make your own retro gamepads! With just a little time and soldering, you'll be gaming retro style in no time!
BUT THAT'S STILL NOT ALL! They also have reproductions games for sale, original titles, NES game development tools, AND MORE! This site gets Strider's Stamp of Approval. Bravo, guys!

Yeap, all three of those sections are now online. Here's the rundown of all three:
Articles: You can post anything from rants to explanations related to gaming and home brewed games.
Tutorials: Post example or text files explaining how to perform certain functions in various game making software.
Link: ...Do I HAVE to explain...?
Anyhoo, this brings 9-Bit closer to completion. Enjoy your stay, everyone!

Ok, not exactly an affiliate per se. This is the Mega Man PC website, home of another project I'm in the middle of producing. It's one of the projects you can find on Dimondsoft.com. Check them out.

New Project: Terran Thunder - Posted by Strider

|
This will mark the birth of our new company. Terran Thunder is a top down, space themed, shoot-em-up. Since our goal is to bring you top quality retro style games, the game itself has been made to look and feel like an NES title.

The game itself will feature:
8 Stages 6 Weapons Customizable Controls Windowed/Full Screen Mode Sound/Music Volume Adjust NES Style Graphics NES Style Music/Sound Uploadable Scores
No release date has been made official just yet, but if I were a guessing man, I'd say we could have a demo out by Christmas.
